Often seen with a tripod and camera in hand Neetu is a Video Journalist for Global BC based in Victoria.

She’s covered everything from crime and politics to breaking news.

She’s grateful that everyday on the job is an opportunity to meet new people, to exercise creativity, to ask a lot of questions, to learn something new and to put together a powerful story.

With a keen interest in current events and a desire to use her skills to make a difference Neetu knew as a teenager she wanted to launch a career in broadcast journalism.

Before she made the recent move to Vancouver Island Neetu worked for Global Okanagan reporting from her hometown, Penticton and across the Okanagan Valley.

She took on many roles there including a reporter, web producer, anchor, and video journalist.

Before entering the world of TV News, Neetu worked at CKNW Newstalk 980 in Vancouver as a radio reporter and anchor.

Neetu was the news editor for the campus newspaper at BCIT where she studied broadcast and online journalism after completing a business management degree at UBC Okanagan.

Neetu loves to travel and was able to combine that with her passion for story telling and videography when she reported from Greece, where she was on the front lines of Europe’s refugee crisis and from Haiti, where she was at a school built by volunteers.

Her family is originally from Punjab, India. She’s motivated by the sacrifices her parents made immigrating to Canada to raise a family and the opportunities this has given her.

When Neetu’s not working she’s likely spending time with her family and friends, working out, travelling or reading a good book.

Her not-so-guilty pleasure is definitely chocolate.
